Harissa Prawns

Ingredients 

Marinade:

  • 3 lbs prawns, whole, with head on
  • 10 oz jar harissa paste
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp garlic salt
  • 1 Tbsp sumac

Ingredients:

  • 8 cloves garlic , chopped
  • 1 large shallot, chopped
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter

Optional garnish:

  • cucumber tzatziki

Instructions

  • Marinate prawns with all the marinade ingredients and set aside for one hour.
  • In a large skillet, on medium high heat, add 1 Tbsp cooking oil and 2 Tbsp butter along with garlic and shallots. Cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add marinated prawns and cook for 5 minutes, turning them over halfway.
  • Add lemon juice and remaining 2 Tbsp of butter. Cook for another couple minutes until shrimp is cooked. Serve immediately.
  • I love adding a big dollop of cucumber tzatziki and eating it with shrimp.
