Harissa Prawns
Ingredients
Marinade:
- 3 lbs prawns, whole, with head on
- 10 oz jar harissa paste
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp garlic salt
- ⅓ cup sumac
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Ingredients:
- 8 cloves garlic , chopped
- 1 large shallot, chopped
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 2 Tbsp avocado oil, or any neutral cooking oil
- 1 whole lemon, juiced
Optional garnish:
- cucumber tzatziki
- lime juice
Instructions
- Marinate prawns with all the marinade ingredients. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, on medium high heat, add 1 Tbsp cooking oil and 2 Tbsp butter along with garlic and shallots. Cook for 30 seconds.
- Add half of marinated prawns and cook for 5 minutes, turning them over halfway.
- Add half lemon juice and 2 Tbsp of butter. Cook for another couple minutes until shrimp is cooked. Remove shrimp from pan and repeat then process. You will do this in two batches total.
- I love adding a big dollop of cucumber tzatziki and squeezing lime on shrimp.
- Serve immediately.
